My name is Doug Forrester and I am the District Superintendent of the Roanoke and Staunton Districts of the United Methodist Church in the Virginia Conference. I am married to Tracy Forrester, a third-grade teacher at Herman L. Horn Elementary School in Vinton. Together we are the parents of Ellen and Claire. I was born in Richmond, Virginia and graduated from Emory & Henry College (B.A.) and Duke University Divinity School (M.Div.). I was ordained to ministry in the United Methodist Church in 1996. I have served congregations in Newport News, Prince George (VA), Crozet, and Richmond. In the past, I have been a part of the faculty of the Virginia Conference Licensing School and I was the leader of the team that created the Virginia Clergy Leadership Program. I am the former coordinator of the Virginia Conference Calling 21 internship program and have been a workshop leader at numerous gatherings for new clergy in the provisional process. When I am not working, I like to write compose and record music.
